‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star Jamie Dornan has come a long way since his days as a Calvin Klein model. Here’s a look at some other macho males who’ve shown that they’re much more than a just another pretty face.

James Marsden

Long before James Marsden starred as Cyclops in the ‘X-Men’ film franchise he was turning heads as a Versace model. In addition to his breakout role as the powerful mutant, Marsden has starred in a string of other hits, including ‘The Notebook,' 'Superman Returns' and 'Hairspray.' 

Josh Duhamel

In 1997, the International Model and Talent Association named this hunky star the Top Male Model of the Year (the runner-up was another Hollywood heartthrob, Ashton Kutcher). After a starring role on NBC's 'Las Vegas,' Duhamel filled his resume with big-screen work, including 'Win a Date with Tad Hamilton’ and the ‘Transformers’ franchise.

Ashton Kutcher

Kutcher’s second place finish in the IMTA competition didn’t slow him down. After appearing in several ads for Calvin Klein and Abercrombie & Fitch, he found his breakout role on FOX's sitcom,  That 70’s Show.' He currently headlines CBS' hit sitcom, ‘Two and a Half Men.'

Mark Wahlberg

Long before he became a movie star, Mark Wahlberg sent out “Good Vibrations” as a popular Calvin Klein underwear model and as rapper Marky Mark. These days, Wahlberg is a fully-clothed, Oscar-nominated box office star, starring in such audience favorites as 'Boogie Nights,' 'The Departed,' 'Ted' and the fourth 'Transformers' movie.  

Brandon Routh

This hunky hero worked his way through college as a fashion model. Since appearing as the Man of Steel in Bryan Singer's 'Superman Returns,' Routh has picked up both small and big screen credits, most notably in 2010's 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' and on The CW's 'Arrow.'

Josh Holloway

In 2004, Holloway went from runway model in Europe to island castaway on ABC's hit series, 'Lost.' As the sarcastic loner Sawyer, Holloway quickly became a fan-favorite, which lead to work on the big-screen in films like 2011's 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' and 2014's 'Sabotage' with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Channing Tatum

People Magazine’s "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2012, Tatum began his career as a Ford model, walking designer runways before becoming one of Hollywood's most bankable stars. See 'Magic Mike' and the 'Jump Street' films as proof.

Before his breakout role as Emmett Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ films, Lutz made ends meet as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch. Although he recently starred as the titular hero in ‘The Legend of Hercules,' he still continues to model, lending his face and body to ads for Calvin Klein, among others.
