Few actors out there have managed to bob in and out of various genres while staying true to their action roots AND keeping their dashing good looks the way Pierce Brosnan has throughout the years. With his latest film 'No Escape' on the horizon, let's look back at some of the Irish actor's best work throughout the years.

Goldeneye (1995)

After some bumps on the road with the James Bond movie franchise, the perfect combination of script, direction and acting formed into the great 1995 espionage film 'Goldeneye.' Brosnan's debut as 007 solidified his status as an international superstar, along with being the face of James Bond for well over a decade.

Mars Attacks! (1996)

Nowadays Tim Burton is known for his fantastical big-budget movies, but his stranger earlier films are still loved by his fans. Pierce Brosnan got the chance to appear in Burton’s comical 'Mars Attacks!' back in 1996. Just a year after 'Goldeneye,' 'Mars Attacks!' showed that yes, Brosnan could easily transition from drama to comedy.

Dante's Peak (1997)

Even though Brosnan's career has leaned more into the dramatic doesn't mean that it's all he can do. Shortly after 'Goldeneye,' he hopped into thriller territory with the disaster film 'Dante's Peak.' Brosnan costarred with Linda Hamilton as two people determined to save as many as possible before a dormant volcano wakes up, inflicting the wrath of Mother Nature.

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)

Brosnan continued his thriller-heavy path with this wonderfully seductive heist film that gave more love to the dashing actor. Even though it's a remake of the 1968 film starring Steve McQueen, Brosnan still impressed audiences everywhere playing the titular character whose real passion lies in stealing valuable pieces of art.

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

A few years before Brosnan took on the role of Agent 007, he played the ultimate "threat" in Daniel's (Robin Williams) crumbling world in Mrs. Doubtfire. Robin Williams plays the titular character, determined to win his ex-wife and children back, but that's a lot easier said than done if the handsome Stu (Brosnan) hadn't stepped into the picture.

The Ghost Writer (2010)

The thrillers didn't stop as Brosnan’s acting career spanned into the 2000s. He teamed up with Roman Polanski to costar in this political thriller as former Prime Minister Adam Lang, a man whose memoir is being pieced together by a ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) who gets too close to the politician's secrets.

Mamma Mia! (2008)

In the earlier days of Hollywood, actors were required to know how to sing and dance. That's not really the case with most modern-day actors, but there are still a few that surprise viewers. In 2008 Pierce Brosnan surprised folks around the world by singing and acting in the hit summer film Mamma Mia!.

The Matador (2005)

Easily one of his best movies to date is the 2008 dark comedy The Matador. Rather than being a cunning agent, Brosnan played a down-on-his-luck assassin dealing with a midlife crisis with his job. The chemistry between him and bummed-out businessman Danny (Greg Kinnear) is fantastic for a movie that sadly flew under the radar.
