‘Barbershop: The Next Cut’: A Who’s Who

It's been 12 years since 'Barbershop 2: Back in Business,' but the beloved comedy franchise finally returns. Who's back? Who's new? Here's a guide to the returning 'Barbershop' veterans and their famous new costars.

Ice Cube as Calvin

You can't have a 'Barbershop' movie without Cube anchoring it as Calvin Palmer Jr. This time he's trying to keep his shop – and his family – alive, as gangsters infiltrate his South Side Chicago neighborhood.

Cedric the Entertainer as Eddie

Eddie's been cutting hair at the Palmers' shop since the 1960s - you know he's not going anywhere! The 'Barbershop' franchise wouldn't be the same without Cedric, who's sure to entertain as usual.

Regina Hall as Angie

A beauty salon owner who partners with Calvin's barbershop for financial reasons, Angie and her team bring lots of female energy to the room – and to the series. And Hall's blue 'do would make even Marge Simpson jealous.

Anthony Anderson as JD

The 'Barbershop' (2002) star was AWOL for 'Barbershop 2,' but we're glad to see Anderson back as the shifty JD, who insists he’s turned over a new leaf. No longer stealing ATMs, he's now running a food truck called "Gangsta Grub."

Eve as Terri

After escaping her various romantic entanglements in 'Barbershop 2,' Terri is now married to fellow barber Rashad (Common). We would say "happily married," but Terri's legendary anger issues may put that to the test.

JB Smoove as One-Stop

The eccentric actor-writer-comedian plays a new character who, as his nickname suggests, is the neighborhood jack-of-all-trades. From tattoo removal to couples counseling, One-Stop is your one-stop shop.

Lamorne Morris as Jerrod

The 'New Girl' regular makes his jump to the big screen as a hilariously sensitive college student who spends as much time getting roasted by his fellow barbers as he does cutting hair.

Sean Patrick Thomas as Jimmy

Jimmy was a former barber who started working for the local alderman in 'Barbershop 2.' Taking note of the suits that Sean Patrick Thomas sports in the 'Next Cut' trailer, we figure Jimmy's still in politics, for better or worse.

Tyga as Yummy

Tyga is more than just the guy dating Kylie Jenner – just ask his seven million Twitter followers. After appearing in 2015's underrated 'Dope,' the rapper takes on a bigger role as a local criminal who threatens to lure Calvin's son into his gang.

Deon Cole as Dante

A former writer for Conan O'Brien, Cole popped up in 'Barbershop 2' and even in the first 'Barbershop' – as a different character! It was, in fact, Cole's screen debut. Now that he's better known, expect more time in the chair for Dante.
