It may be blowing your mind right now to see two films up there listed as box office winners in the title, but there’s a reason for that. See, there was a photo finish at the box office this weekend between the Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston comedy Just Go With It ($31 million), and the 3D Justin Bieber biopic/concert film Never Say Never ($30 million). Some have suggested that Never Say Never will ultimately win the weekend once the final numbers come in, though at this moment in time Just Go With It is in the lead. Thus, you can see why we’re listing both films this week. (And in case you’re wondering, Gnomeo & Juliet finished third with $25 million, while The Eagle and The Roommate rounded out the top five with about $8 million each.)
So now that we have two films to take a look at, you’d be surprised to hear which one is getting the more positive buzz. Over at Rotten Tomatoes, Just Go With It is running at 18% Rotten, while Never Say Never is soaring with a 65% Fresh rating. Yes folks, it would appear as if many cranky film critics are now full-fledged Beliebers! Naturally, we don’t count critical response when it comes to these polls, because it’s all about asking you moviegoers for your opinion.
