Yup, it's that time again – time to look back over the hectic week that was and choose which story you all think was the biggest, grandest, hottest and most important. So much happened this week, both good and bad, and so let's take a look at the stories that have captivated us within the past seven days and try to decide which one belongs on top.

1. Michael Jackson Dies – The world was in complete shock yesterday when pop icon Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. Soon after arriving at the hospital, news organizations from around the world began to confirm the entertainer's untimely death. Jackson's artistic touch reached far and wide, across film, television, music, the internet – you name it, he was there. He'll be remembered as a visionary, a music legend and a pop-culture icon.

2. Facebook: The Movie – One of the hotter stories this week had to do with the upcoming film based on the true story behind the founding (and growing) of Facebook. First it was announced that David Fincher was in talks to direct, and then reports came in that Shia LaBeouf and Michael Cera were at the top of the list to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, though neither has officially been cast.

3. Academy Awards Expands Best Picture Category to 10 Nominees – Earlier this week Academy president Sid Ganis announced that beginning with the next Oscar ceremony (to be held on March 7, 2010), the Best Picture category will now hold ten nominees, instead of five, leaving a whole bunch of room for some of this year's fan favorites (Pixar's Up, Star Trek) to possibly make the cut.

4. First Images from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland – Wayyy back on Monday of this week, USA Today unveiled the first character photos and concept art from Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland adaptation, starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway, among others. The film will be part live-action, part motion-capture, and the new images were freakishly colorful, to say the least.

5. Neve Campbell Ditches 'Scream 4' – Fans of the Scream franchise were sad to hear this week that franchise star Neve Campbell decided not to return for the fourth installment, which is currently being written by the original Scream screenwriter, Kevin Williamson. He made the announcement on his Twitter page, and followed it up by admitting that Campbell's non-involvement means script changes are definitely in the works.

Okay, then – now it's your turn to pick the hottest story of the week. Sound off in the poll below, and we'll meet you back here first thing Monday morning. Have a good weekend everyone!
