Welcome back, Fandango fanatics, to another weekend packed full of new releases. Now I’m not going to sit here and brag about correctly picking last week’s number one film because, well, I’m awesome and we all know that already. But I will ask you to scope out this week’s selections below before voting on which film YOU think will win the weekend. Should you just agree with yours truly, a five-time World Box Office Predicting Champion? Probably. But I know there are risk takers among you, and so I’m expecting a little bit of a fight.

But before we duke it out, let’s highlight the competition:

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
What’s the Scoop: It’s an animated film about a scientist who invents a machine that causes food to suddenly begin falling from the sky … and the voice talent includes Adrien Brody, Anna Faris, Andy Samberg and Mr. T.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: the kids will have a blast with what’s turning out be the best reviewed of all the new releases; however, those heading in on an empty stomach may be forced to leave early for a sudden (and dramatic) trip to the concession counter.

Jennifer’s Body
What’s the Scoop: The one and only Megan Fox heads up this female-powered horror flick about a high school teen who transforms into a boy-eating monster.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Um, Megan Fox, anyone? Oh, and Diablo Cody (who won an Oscar for writing Juno) is behind the film’s screenplay.

Love Happens
What’s the Scoop: Aaron Eckhart plays a self-help writer and widower who falls for one of his readers (Jennifer Aniston) before realizing that he still may not be over the death of his wife.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Jennifer Aniston may not have Megan Fox’s looks, but she still does quite well for herself at the box office.

The Informant
What’s the Scoop: Steven Soderbergh directs this real-life tale that stars a pudgy, four-eyed Matt Damon as a corporate whistleblower who helps the government take down his former company.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Some people may be turned on by an overweight Matt Damon …

In my opinion, the box office this week is a two-film race between Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Jennifer’s Body, with the latter just barely nudging out the former for the top spot. I could be wrong, though, so feel free to make your prediction in the comment box below...
