Who Will Win the Weekend – (7/24-7/26)

After taking a week off due to Harry Potter’s fantastical box office strength, we’re back again to find out which new movie you think will take the top spot at the box office this weekend. The Ugly Truth
What’s the Scoop: Katherine Heigl stars opposite Gerard Butler in this rom-com about a TV producer (Heigl) who must contend with a rude, disgusting, chauvinistic on-air personality (Butler). Cue eventual love spark.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: With all the fantasy and special effects onscreen of late, folks are probably itching for a light rom-com to help remind them that not every film comes with a giant robotic machine gun attached.

G-Force
What’s the Scoop: A group of CG-created guinea pigs head out to bring down a billionaire before he can take over the world.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: It’s a new kid’s film, and it sort of resembles last year’s Alvin and the Chipmunks, which took in a surprisingly large amount of money. So, heck – if chipmunks can do big business, why not guinea pigs? We all had one as a pet once, right?

Orphan
What’s the Scoop: A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a nine-year-old girl who’s way more evil than your grumpy next door neighbor.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Everyone loves a good evil kid flick … except for parents with young children who won’t want their little ones to get any smart ideas. And people considering adoption.

As I said before, Harry Potter is still in theaters and only in his second week, but as you can see there’s definitely some strong competition. Now it’s your turn: sound off below and let us know who you think will win the weekend.
