With only one major, wide release in theaters this weekend, you’d think this would be an easy prediction. But with Star Trek exploding on screens last weekend, and gaining momentum (and lots of great buzz) heading into the weekend, something tells me we may have a good old fashioned box office dog fight on our hands. Let’s take a look:

Angels & Demons
What's the Scoop: Tom Hanks reprises his role as Dr. Robert Langdon in this sequel to The Da Vinci Code, based on another one of Dan Brown’s ultra-popular novels. This time, Langdon is summoned to Rome where yet another ancient conspiracy involving the Vatican threatens to destroy lives. Can Langdon solve enough puzzles to save the day?
Why It Might Win the Weekend: The Da Vinci Code made buckets full of cash when it first hit theaters, and it has basically no competition – except for The Brothers Bloom (which is definitely worth a watch) and Management, both out in limited release.

But here’s the thing: I feel Star Trek will do excellent numbers in its second weekend as the good buzz traveled around during the week – and with not much talk or interest in Angels & Demons (despite the fact that it looks a lot better than Da Vinci), there could be a major upset at play heading in to one of the more fascinating weekends of the summer so far.

Who do you think will win the weekend?
