What movies were just announced for digital release?

Fantasy Island, the Blumhouse horror movie based on the iconic 1970s TV series, announced a digital release date for the middle of next month (April 14), including an Unrated Edition. On the indie film side, Endings, Beginnings, the latest drama from Drake Doremus (Like Crazy) will now arrive on April 17 instead of May 1. 

 

What are the biggest new movies to watch right now?

Two of the biggest box office hits of the year, Bad Boys for Life and the video game adaptation Sonic the Hedgehog, are now available to buy on digital. They join the canine adventure The Call of the Wild, which was released for purchase last Friday, and the music biopic I Still Believe, which became available to rent as a Home Premiere title on the same day.

 

What movies can be paired for purchase with new releases?

With Bad Boys for Life now available, the sequel is bundled to own along with the previous two installments of the trilogy, Bad Boys and Bad Boys II, for under $30. And for musical fans, a double feature pack including Tom Hooper’s adaptations of Cats and Les Miserables can be bought together for under $40.

 

Are there any other big movies coming out this week?

On April 1, just in time for April Fool’s Day, Impractical Jokers: The Movie, based on the Impractical Jokers TV series, arrives on digital for purchase. And coming this Friday, April 3, are the horror sequel Brahms: The Boy II and the highly acclaimed 2020 Sundance Film Festival winner Never Rarely Sometimes Always.

 

What movies are now available as rentals?

In addition to I Still Believe, which is available for a premium rental as a Home Premiere title, other movies that are new to rent include Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Current War (Director’s Cut), Vivarium and the teen movie Banana Split.

 

Can you recommend some great binge bundles to rent?

If you’re interested in the new digital release of Bad Boys for Life but haven’t caught up with the first two installments of the franchise, rent Bad Boys and Bad Boys II as a double-feature bundle. And if you like I Still Believe and want more faith-based movies, rent Miracles from Heaven and Heaven is for Real bundled together for under $5.

 

What are some movies to watch for April Fool’s Day?

Along with Impractical Jokers: The Movie, which is available on April 1, we recommend spending your April Fool’s Day with the pranks and stunts of the Jackass movies. You can hold a marathon including Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two, the unrated edition of Jackass 2.5, Jackass 3 and Jackass 3.5.  

 

Are we celebrating any big anniversaries this week?

The first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie turns 30 this week, and you can either rent or buy it solo or buy it in a bundle with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles in Time. Also, The Road to El Dorado turns 20, Tommy Boy turns 25, Patton turns 50 and the original Cheaper by the Dozen turns 60.

 

Which must-see movies are coming soon to FandangoNOW?

Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne star as cosmetics entrepreneurs in the comedy Like a Boss, which is available next Tuesday, April 7, along with the scary movies The Turning and Gretel & Hansel. The aforementioned horror movie Fantasy Island, the action drama The Rhythm Section and Underwater, a sci-fi action movie starring Kristen Stewart, all arrive on April 14.

And coming soon to rent as a home premiere is the highly anticipated, never-before-seen animated feature sequel Trolls World Tour, which drops on April 10.
