If The Avengers (05/04) is any indication of what's to come this summer, then we're all in for a huge treat this season. You've probably already heard the extremely positive advance buzz, but we're lucky enough to have seen it and can confirm – it lives up to the hype and then some. It's that good (the best superhero movie ever in this writer's opinion), and there's a lot more similar-looking fare on the way.
Coming attractions on the superhero front include The Amazing Spider-Man (0703) and The Dark Knight Rises (07/20), while full-scale, epic action, sci-fi and comedy will be on display with the upcoming releases Battleship (05/18), Men in Black 3 (05/25), Prometheus (06/08), The Bourne Legacy (08/03) and lots more.
Our full Summer Movie Guide launches next week, but in the meantime, our sister cable network G4's Attack of the Show gets underway tonight at 7/6 central with their aptly titled, week-long preview Attack of the Summer Movies.
For a hint of what's on the way, we've launched an exclusive photo feature with AOTS guest editors/co-hosts Kevin Pereira and Candace Baily outlining their top guy movie picks, and, also, keep an eye out for our own Fandango correspondent Grae Drake, who will be featured on the show this week with her own thoughts on what's hitting your cineplex over the next four busy months.
Enjoy! And if you haven't done so, get more of the scoop - plus tix - in our Avengers Movie Guide. I'm going on record now – it's the best summer popcorn movie in years, and deserves to be this generation of kids' new Star Wars.
