Marvel Studios to produce next Spider-Man movie: Sony and Disney announced they have worked out a deal for Marvel’s Kevin Feige to produce the next Spider-Man sequel. Jon Watts is also in talks to direct the Spider-Man: Far From Home follow-up while Spidey actor Tom Holland is set to appear in one more installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

Kevin Feige leaps to Star Wars universe: Speaking of Kevin Feige, who is best known for masterminding the MCU, the Marvel Studios chief is branching out within the Disney umbrella. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Feige is working with Kathleen Kennedy in developing a Star Wars movie he will produce for Lucasfilm.

 

Sony’s Marvel Universe adds Madame Web movie: While Spider-Man stays put in the MCU, Sony’s Spidey-adjacent Marvel universe, which kicked off with Venom, has another movie in the works. Collider revealed a spin-off focused on the Marvel character Madame Web will be scripted by Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

 

The Batman casts Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Wright: Moving on to the other major comic book universe, DC’s The Batman has found its Commissioner Gordon and at least one of its villains. The Hollywood Reporter had the scoop on Jeffrey Wright playing the former character, while Deadline reported that Jonah Hill is also joining the superhero movie. Collider later clarified that Hill is taking on the role of iconic villain the Riddler. 

 

Jurassic Park stars to return for Jurassic World 3: Following his brief appearance in Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom, Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World 3. And according to Deadline, he will be joined by fellow original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill and Laura Dern.

The Irishman teases a Martin Scorsese epic: Netflix premiered the first trailer for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman as the movie is making its debut at the New York Film Festival this weekend. Check out the first look at the epic with its de-aged versions of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci below, and see the movie in theaters on November 1.

 

 

 

Uncut Gems brings back serious Adam Sandler: A24 released the first trailer for the Safdie brothers’ Uncut Gems, which stars Adam Sandler in another dramatic role. Watch the spot for the movie, which has critics raving and fans campaigning for an “Oscar for the Sandman” below, and catch it in theaters on December 13.
