Thanks for early screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival and elsewhere, Renée Zellweger is earning major awards buzz for her stirring performance as a legendary singer and actress in Judy. The film follows Judy Garland (Zellweger) as she arrives in London to perform a series of concerts in the winter of 1968. By that point, child star Garland had long risen into the Hollywood firmament. Yet, she had also been struggling for years with persistent personal, financial and family troubles. Really, all Ms. Garland wanted was to be reunited with her beloved children.
In our exclusive clip, an animated Garland has a conversation from the heart with Sid Luft (Rufus Sewell), her skeptical former husband. She desperately wants to make a permanent place in her life for their two young children. As she tells him with conviction: "I'm a good mother."
