Star Wars video game to become new movie trilogy: We just learned that the next Star Wars movie trilogy after the release of The Rise of the Skywalker is heading to theaters starting in 2022, and now Buzzfeed has revealed another possible trilogy is in development for the future: Lucasfilm is adapting their popular 2003 video game Knights of the Old Republic with Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar) scripting at least the first installment.
John Wick continues with Chapter 4: Last weekend, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum not only topped the box office chart but exceeded expectations as it gave the franchise its best opening. Naturally, Lionsgate immediately confirmed John Wick: Chapter 4 is in the works and revealed a release date of May 21, 2021. Keanu Reeves will return in the titular role.
Akira remake officially arriving in 2021: Taking the very same release date of May 21, 2021, now is Akira, the live-action remake of the anime classic of the same name from Warner Bros. Leonardo DiCaprio is producing while Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi is directing.
The Invisible Man will be seen in 2020: Another release date announced this week was March 13, 2020, revealed by Universal for The Invisible Man. This remake of the classic horror movie about a man who can physically become invisible will star Elisabeth Moss and A Wrinkle in Time’s Storm Reid (pictured) and begins shooting this summer with Blumhouse producing and Leigh Whannell (Insidious: Chapter 3) writing and directing.
Christopher Nolan’s next movie gets a title: The next movie from Christopher Nolan, known only to be a spy film, announced its title this week: Tenet. The June 2020 release also added Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh and, of course, Michael Caine to the cast, which is led by BlacKkKlansman’s John David Washington and also includes Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson.
