Benedict Cumberbatch The Courier

In the real-life thriller The Courier, a quiet and unassuming salesman is invited into a secret world that may cost him his life. It's 1960 and Greville Wynne (Benedict Cumberbatch) is an entirely ordinary businessman, which apparently makes him the ideal candidate to serve his country as a spy in partnership with a Soviet operative (Merab Ninidze). Things quickly ramp up, though, and soon Wynne finds himself trying to end a frightening crisis that threatens the future.

In our exclusive clip, Wynne asks secret agents Emily Donovan (Rachel Brosnahan) and Dickie Franks (Angus Wright) for details on his assignment. Franks recaps Wynne's clear lack of qualifications for anything that might be dangerous, while Donovan gives him a puzzling item for his use.

Based on a true story, the dramatic thriller also stars Jessie Buckley. Watch the clip below, then get tickets to see The Courier when it opens in theaters on Friday, March 19.
