"We're ghosts," says an American intelligence officer portrayed by Mark Wahlberg in Mile 22. "But we're very real. And we get things done." He is referring to his tactical command unit, which has been charged with smuggling a police officer (Iko Uwais) claiming to have sensitive information out of the country.
In our exclusive featurette, we learn a bit more about the secretive paramilitary division, known as Overwatch. Wahlberg describes the dangers involved: "This is an 'any and every man left behind' type of situation. The mission is the only priority." Lauren Cohan, who costars, points out that, though the story is fictional, the characters are based on real people: "We were lucky enough to learn about them and get to represent them in a really fun, thrilling action movie." We also hear from costar Ronda Rousey, writer Lea Carpenter and director Peter Berg.
John Malkovich also stars. Watch the video below and then make plans to see Mile 22 when the action thriller opens in theaters everywhere on August 17. Advance tickets are now on sale here at Fandango.
