Heading soon to home video, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil spins a chilling new twist on a legendary fairy tale. Angelina Jolie stars as Maleficent, who is overjoyed when her beloved goddaughter Aurora (Elle Fanning) decides to marry. Aurora's intended husband Prince Phillip will be a fine companion, but something about Phillip's mother, Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer) doesn't seem quite right to Maleficent. Her lingering suspicions bear unhappy fruit, leaving Maleficent and Aurora on opposite sides in a battle that draws Maleficent's winged people, the Fey, into often spectacular and frequently dangerous flight.
In our exclusive featurette, we get a peek behind the scenes as the talented crew works with the actors to fine-tune their movements. "We did it with a combination of different things," says Simon Crane, second unit director. That includes practical "flying" with cables. Angelina Jolie explains some of the challenges involved with those maneuvers: "You're clamped into it like you become a piece of the machine itself and you're working with … puppet masters." We also hear how the final scene of the movie echoes the final scene in Maleficent.
