From a filmmaker known for his breezy, witty adventures, the deadly serious suspense thriller Guy Ritchie's The Covenant may come as a surprise, but the story demands attention. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as US Army Sergeant John Kinley, who owes his life to his Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). So Sergeant Kinley springs into action when he learns that Ahmed and his family have not been given safe passage from murderous threats, even though that means returning to incredibly dangerous fields of battle.

"What do we do when someone saves our life?" asks Jake Gyllenhall in our exclusive featurette. "They are two men who need each other," says co-star Dar Salim. "And that's the beauty of it." Director and co-writer Guy Ritchie notes in wonder: "It's an inspiring concept: what one person is prepared to do for another." Gyllenhall nicely sums it up: "In the end, you will be moved."
