In 1926, Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt) was the biggest movie star in the world, as vividly depicted in Babylon, directed by Academy Award-winner Damien Chazelle. One night, the paths of aspiring actress Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie) and aspiring producer Manny Torres (Diego Calva) collide with Jack Conrad at the wildest party Hollywood had ever seen, leading to an incredible series of stories painted on an epic cinematic canvas.
"I've been working on this movie for almost 15 years," says writer/director Chazelle in our exclusive featurette. "I wanted to show what really happened during this time … It's something you would not expect from the 1920s." Actress/producer Olivia Hamilton points out: "All the stories and all the people are all inspired by real events." Brad Pitt says, "This is something that very few people could pull off." We also hear from actors Margot Robbie, Jovan Adepo, Tobey Maguire, who all speak warmly about Chazelle. In turn, Chazelle credits his "incredible team" for helping him get "this insane early Hollywood vision onto the screen."
