There are so many great things about this video.
1. Obviously, as per the title, it features Arnold Schwarzenegger crushing things with a tank. Random things, too. Everything from bubble wrap to weights to a copy of Million Dollar Baby (because it makes him cry).
2. The video was directed by one of our favorite up-and-comers, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, whose Kings of Summer kinda ruled 2013.
3. The entire purpose of the video is to announce a contest where the winner gets to fly to Los Angeles and crush things inside Arnold's tank with Arnold. That's like every dude's fantasy right there, and hey -- we bet you can even ask all the Kindergarten Cop questions you want. There are no limits to this amazing reward.
4. Finally, all of the proceeds for this contest will go directly to After-School All-Stars, which is an incredible organization that helps provide terrific, comprehensive after-school programs that are free and help kids in a variety of ways.
To recap: You get to drive a tank and crush things alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger AND you get to help kids. Greatest contest ever or greatest contest ever?
Above you'll find the director's cut of the video, which Vogt-Roberts would prefer you watch. Here's a little of what he told First Showing about the making of it all:
"I called Chris Galletta who wrote [Kings of Summer] because nothing was funnier to me than the idea of his words coming out of Arnold's mouth. We both grew up with Schwarzenegger movies so it was pretty surreal to get to write jokes involving the infamous war call from Predator. We were only supposed to have an hour with Arnold but he dug the script and genuinely finds crushing stuff in his tank to be cathartic so luckily he stuck around for a bit and made jokes about the Microsoft Zune."
Fans can next see Arnold on the big screen in Sabotage, which hits theaters on March 28.
