One of the more challenging times for both parents and children is when a new sibling enters the picture. They're extra needy, and for the older brother or sister that means much of the attention is being diverted away from them.

It's those very familiar themes that will apparently be explored in The Boss Baby, a new animated film from DreamWorks Animation due out March 31, 2017. It features the voice of Alec Baldwin as a baby who wreaks havoc on a seven year old's pleasant existence by showing up like he owns the joint -- business suit, briefcase and all.

The first trailer arrived just in time to celebrate National Boss's Day. Check it out.

Between Baldwin's bossy baby and Kevin Spacey voicing a grumpy, bossy cat in Nine Lives, we might be seeing the return of a subgenre that really took off following 1989's Look Who's Talking, starring Bruce Willis as the internal voice of a bossy baby. Might these two movies mark the start of an influx of movies with older curmudgeons voicing innocent and adorable babies/animals?

Who's talking next?

Here's the full synopsis for The Boss Baby, in theaters March 31.

"DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby. He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ THE BOSS BABY. THE BOSS BABY is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby's arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative seven year old named Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ THE BOSS BABY is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages."
