These days, adding either Lindsay Lohan or Charlie Sheen to your production could be frightening. But adding both? Now that’s downright Scary.
The rumor mill over at E! Online suggests that Lohan and Sheen have accepted roles in Scary Movie 5. The latter appeared in Scary Movie 4 (and was unceremoniously killed, though he’ll be defying all odds by returning), while Lohan will be making her first appearance in the long-running comedy series.
And the Oscar for Best Picture goes to …
OK, so the Scary Movie franchise isn’t exactly hallowed ground. Itself a spoof of the Scream movies – which poked fun at the horror genre, as a whole – Scary Movie at least was able to say that it had the talented Anna Faris at its helm. Faris, however, has moved on to greener pastures after the fourth movie, leaving room for Lohan to slide into what may be the lead role.
If Scary Movie 5 happens, it will be the next step in Lohan’s ongoing comeback. She’ll soon be seen playing Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV movie Liz & Dick. And she signed to appear in The Canyons, a drama working off a Bret Easton Ellis screenplay.
