Warner Bros. broke Twitter last night, announcing that Ben Affleck has been cast as Bruce Wayne – as well as his costumed alter ego, Batman – in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel. “Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne,” said director Zack Snyder.
As you can imagine, the factory of snark that is social media exploded with reaction – from negative to positive. While I don’t see this wave of reaction slowing down anytime soon, here are some of our favorite tweets regarding Affleck’s casting.
