Okay, forget the fact that there’s no question mark at the end of the title (ack, that’s bothersome!), and just watch this trailer with a free spirit and an open mind. After all, How Do You Know comes to us from director James L. Brooks, who, aside from working for years developing The Simpsons, has directed films like Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, As Good as It Gets, and Spanglish. Basically, this isn’t a guy who churns one out every year, so when he has a film in theaters we definitely should pay attention.

'How Do You Know'

How Do You Know stars Reese Witherspoon as a girl stuck in the middle of a love triangle between the dumb jock who means well (Owen Wilson) and the businessman in turmoil (Paul Rudd). The trailer seems a little long, and there aren’t many laugh-out-loud moments, but it definitely feels like a slow-building dramedy (kinda like Splanglish) about three people trying to find themselves through personal and professional wins and losses.

And Reese Witherspoon is back! Did we miss her? Or … how about I just let you answer the rest. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. How Do You Know hits theaters on December 17th.
