The mere mention of Michael Bay's name associated with a project attracts a ton of attention. Case in point is Pain and Gain, Bay's "pet project" that he's been trying to get launched for several years now. Those pesky Transformers kept getting in the way though.
With a lengthy break between the third and upcoming fourth Transformers movie at his disposal, Bay jumped at the chance to film Pain and Gain, casting Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in the lead roles, with supporting performances from Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub and one of this year's breakout stars, Rebel Wilson.
There's no CGI in this trailer, but we still get the classic Bay touches with the slow-motion action scenes, gratuitous babe shots and, yup, an explosion. That been said, there's definitely a nice comedic touch that has been missing from Bay's previous films. Could Wahlberg and Johnson be the new Will Smith and Martin Lawrence of Bad Boys fame? Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
Pain and Gain opens on April 26, 2013.
