Though we're a whole year away from the third installment in Pixar's terrific Toy Story franchise, the first teaser trailer for the film has arrived online in the form of a cute little skit that reminds us just how fun it is to have these characters in our lives. The teaser doesn't show any footage from the actual film; instead, it's like a promotional tool to let us all know the movie is coming … but not soon enough.
In the teaser, Woody (Tom Hanks) is hard at work directing all the other toys while they clumsily throw together a make-shift Toy Story 3 sign … only to watch Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) enter the equation with a much better sign that also lights up. This will be the first Toy Story film in 3D, but it won't be the first you'll get to watch in 3D. This October, Disney/Pixar will re-release Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D alongside the first real trailer for Toy Story 3 – so by the time the third one comes out, hopefully you'll already be used to watching these characters leap out of the screen as they embark on yet another wacky adventure.
As far as story goes, Toy Story 3 will follow all our favorite characters (plus some new ones) as they're dumped in a day care center after their owner Andy departs for college. Yup, it's been that long since the first movie came out (14 years!). Toy Story 3 hits theaters on June 18, 2010, and you can watch the brand new teaser right over here.
