The 2015 Toronto International Film Festival closed its doors over the weekend, but not before Brie Larson's Room took home honors as the People's Choice. Perhaps the fest's most prestigious award, the People's Choice is voted on by all those attending the fest who fill out a ballot on their way out of the theater. Other films that scored People's Choice awards include the first-person shoot-'em-up movie Hardcore (for the Midnight Madness section), as well as the documentary Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom.
Watch the trailer for Room below
Already touted as a major Oscar contender, Room is based on the acclaimed book -- it stars Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay as a mother and son held captive and forced to live in one room for several years... before they make a run for it. Here's my 15-second review of the film.
The best of the rest? Watch my 30-second festival recap below, in which I mention some of my favorite films and slip in a cameo from another familiar red-haired Fandango contributor. Below the video I've listed the current release dates for all of them so you can mark 'em off on your calendar.
