The fun and excitement of Harry Potter will come alive with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Hollywood April 7. But for fans who just want to enjoy a taste of Potter's world, these pops make a great project.
One of the most memorable scenes from the movie was when Harry and Ron are riding the train and the chocolate frog actually jumps out of its packaging. Not to worry, these little treats won’t get away. And even better, they’re filled with a peanut butter surprise. These chocolate amphibians would feel right at home on the shelves of Honeydukes. Mischief managed!
Chocolate Frogs
(makes 8 frogs)
You’ll need:
1 frog chocolate mold
lollipop sticks (if using)
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons peanut butter
1 Tablespoon powdered sugar
3-4 ounces chocolate
Directions:
In a small bowl stir together the peanut butter and the powdered sugar to make the filling. Set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl heat the chocolate at 10-second intervals until melted and smooth.
Pour the chocolate into the frog molds about ? of the way up. Spoon in a small amount of the peanut butter mixture, then top with more chocolate to cover. (If using the lollipop sticks, place them into the molds.)
Tap the molds on a hard surface to get all the air bubble out. Place in the freezer until solid.
Remove the chocolate from the molds and serve.
