The new Batmobile: As The Batman continues casting, with the A.V. Club revealing twin actors Charlie and Max Carver have joined the DC superhero movie, we also got our first look at the Batmobile. Writer/director Matt Reeves shared the images on Twitter, showcasing a retro sports car model clearly inspired by the 1960s Batman TV series.

 

The next great car movie: Speaking of movie cars, John Wick franchise filmmaker Chad Stahelski will direct a car movie in the spirit of the classics of the genre. Deadline reports the “high concept” action movie will be written by the duo who scripted Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and produced by the duo behind A Quiet Place and its new sequel.

 

Chris Evans heads to Bermuda: Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson is re-teaming with regular writing collaborator C. Robert Cargill on a movie based on the mysterious region known as the Bermuda Triangle. Variety reports Captain America actor Chris Evans is expected to star in the supernatural action-adventure project, which is titled Bermuda.

 

J.J. Abrams goes Western: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams, who is also a producer of HBO’s Westworld, is working on a supernatural Western thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Titled The Pinkerton, the movie will be scripted by F9 writer Daniel Casey and inspired by the historic detective agency of the same name that protected President Abraham Lincoln. 

 

Oscar winners to direct cave rescue movie: Free Solo directors Jimmy Chin and Chai Vasarhelyi are going from mountain climbing to a cave rescue movie, per Deadline. The Oscar winners, best known for documentary work, will helm a drama about a youth soccer team trapped in a cave in Thailand in 2008. The untitled project will be written by Midway’s Wes Tooke.

 

Kelly Fremon Craig to adapt Judy Blume: Fans of the Judy Blume classic Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret finally get to see the book turned into a movie. Deadline reports Lionsgate will produce an adaptation from writer/director Kelly Fremon Craig, the filmmaker behind The Edge of Seventeen, as approved by the author.

 

Antonio Banderas joins Uncharted: Another adaptation finally moving forward is Uncharted, based on the video game of the same name. Variety reports Ruben Fleischer (Venom) will direct  while recent Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas and actresses Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle have joined the cast of the action adventure movie about a treasure hunter, a la Indiana Jones.
