Kit Harrington joined Marvel’s The Eternals: Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside his TV brother Richard Madden plus Angelina Jolie in The Eternals. Taika Waititi might co-star in Suicide Squad 2: Meanwhile, in the DC Extended Universe, Deadline reported filmmaker Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) is in talks to join the sequel Suicide Squad 2, which is being helmed by fellow MCU director James Gunn. There’s no word, however, on what character he’ll be playing.
Halloween Kills casts Anthony Michael Hall: In other sequel news, Variety reported the next installment of the Halloween franchise, titled Halloween Kills, has cast 1980s teen movie icon Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club). He will play the character Tommy Doyle, who was a kid in the 1978 original, opposite returning lead Jamie Lee Curtis.
Himesh Patel cast in Christopher Nolan’s latest: Himesh Patel, star of this summer’s sleeper hit Yesterday, will next co-star in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, according to Variety. His role, like much of the details of the espionage-focused action epic, is top secret information for now.
Eva Longoria to direct Cheetos biopic: Fox Searchlight’s biopic about Flamin’ Hot Cheetos inventor Richard Montanez found its director. According to Deadline, actress Eva Longoria will make her feature narrative directorial debut for Flamin’ Hot, which will track Montanez’ life from Frito-Lay janitor to creator of a snack food phenomenon.

Joker sends in the clown: Warner Bros. released the first full trailer for Joker, a dramatic portrayal of Batman’s iconic foe from DC Comics, and it looks very gritty and purposefully reminiscent of early Martin Scorsese movies. Watch Joaquin Phoenix put on a happy face in the spot below.
Terminator: Dark Fate looks destined for greatness: The first full trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate reunites Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger while teasing a whole lot of action and a great showcase for franchise additions Mackenzie Davis and Gabriel Luna, who plays the new Terminator.
