With just over six months before the English-language adaptation of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig hits theaters, we now have an official green-band trailer after an allegedly unauthorized international red-band trailer found its way online several days ago. The differences between this official trailer and the red-band one that Sony has removed from YouTube are few, aside from scenes featuring nudity and brief glimpses of explicit violence.

The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo is based on the late Swedish author Steig Larsson’s best-selling crime novel. Directed by The Social Network’s David Fincher, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo finds a crusading journalist, Mikhail Blomkvist (Craig), facing jail time after losing a libel case. He gets a second chance when a reclusive billionaire (Christopher Plummer) recruits him to uncover the truth about this granddaughter’s sudden disappearance four decades ago. Blomkvist is aided in his search by an introverted and uniquely gifted Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a punk-rock computer hacker.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is in theaters December 21, 2011. Check out the poster and the trailer below and let us know what you think.
