In case you haven’t already noticed, there’s a new trend in movie marketing these days: games that allow you to insert your face onto the body of a movie character. Personally I think it’s a little freaky since I can barely stand looking at my face while its on my own body, let alone on some weird movie character’s body – but the kids dig it, and so now we have two more promotions that tie into the upcoming Star Trek and Terminator Salvation.
With the Trek Yourself campaign, Trekkies (or Trekkers) can surf on over to this site and choose which character you’d like your image to appear on. There’s Captain, Vulcan, Officer and Romulan. The last one kinda weirds me out a bit, but if that’s your style then run with it.
For the Terminate Yourself promo (not the greatest title in the world, but it’ll do), folks can surf over to this site and upload an image that will magically transform into a Terminator, complete with blotchy metal face and creepy red eye. Both promotions probably won’t help you score a date, but if you’ve ever wanted to see what you’d look like in Star Trek or as a Terminator, by all means have at it.
