Ladies beware, because Spring Break is about to be invaded by Twi-hards…or something like that. If there's one dude who's obviously doing everything he can to take advantage of his newfound super-stardom, it's Taylor Lautner. His "people" have been aggressively looking for the right films for Lautner to take on post-Twilight Saga, and one such flick has just slipped onto our radar.
Summit Entertainment has decided to hang onto Lautner for at least a little while, and they've pegged him to star in the film Cancun, which is not about a bunch of hottie guys who go down to Cancun to sunbathe and pick up girls during Spring Break. It is, however, an action film about a college student (Lautner) who attempts to rescue the girl and group of friends he traveled to Cancun with after they're taken hostage. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story is designed to take advantage of Lautner's mad, dope martial arts skills (didn't you see him drop-kick Kanye West's face on Saturday Night Live this past weekend?).
So will Taylor Lautner become the next…Steven Seagal? I don't know, but we seem to be lacking young studs who know their martial arts these days. Can he carry a film all on his own? That's the real question. What do you think?
