There's been a lot of buzz recently that David Yates would be directing a Hollywood reboot of the popular BBC series Doctor Who. Executive producer and lead writer Steven Moffat took to his Twitter account earlier today to clear up any confusion.

Moffat tweeted that, "any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot."

Moffat continues in a second tweet, "Movie thing: David Yates, great director, was speaking off the cuff, on a red carpet. You've seen the rubbish I talk when I'm cornered."

So with Yates, who is best known for his work directing the Harry Potter movies, not directing a big screen version of the TV series, we're essentially back to square one.

It may be reading too much into the two tweets, but Moffat certainly didn't go to the extent of saying there wouldn't be a Doctor Who movie in the future and with the series' burgeoning (and extremely loyal) fan base, there is certainly the possibility of seeing a Doctor Who movie somewhere down the road.

If only we could climb inside the TARDIS and fast forward into the future, we could end the speculating. Fans of the series, would you like to see a feature length film in the future or are you content with the TV series?
