Spider-Man: Far from Home topped Fandango's Most Anticipated Summer Movie Survey, voted upon by more than 2,000 moviegoers. The next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows Tom Holland as the beloved web-slinging character, who heads to Europe after the game-changing epic Avengers: Endgame and discovers an entirely unexpected and exciting adventure.

Disney's all-new live-action adventure The Lion King was named by moviegoers on Fandango as the most anticipated family film, while the raucous Booksmart was named most anticipated comedy. The rapturous fantasy Rocketman was recognized as the most anticipated musical.

Fans are also eager to see Chris Hemsworth in Men in Black: International and Zendaya in Spider-Man: Far from Home; they were named the most anticipated summer movie performers. Richard Madden (in Rocketman) and Naomi Scott (in Aladdin) were voted by fans as the top rising stars.

"Spider-Man: Far from Home is the most anticipated film of the summer, due to the amazing resurgence of Spider-Man as a fan favorite on the big screen, and because it follows the events of Avengers: Endgame, one of the biggest movies of all time,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “It’s also a great summer for action fans with the return of Marvel’s X-Men in Dark Phoenix and the epic monster battles of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.  With so many stellar choices each weekend, like the music-fueled Rocketman, and Yesterday, plus family-friendly titles like The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Secret Life of Pets 2, we expect to see summer moviegoers spending more time at the theaters than ever before.”
