The Return of Derek and Hansel

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson walked the runway as their Zoolander characters at a Paris fashion show yesterday to promote Zoolander 2, which has been scheduled to open on February 12, 2016. No plot has been made official yet, but we know Will Ferrell and Christine Taylor are also back, joined by Penelope Cruz, and that Justin Theroux is directing.

ID Forever -- Part 1 Will Have the Aliens Strike Back

Independence Day 2 is now officially titled ID Forever (aka Independence Day Forever), apparently with a "Part 1" attached on the end. Presumably that means the third movie will be ID Forever -- Part 2. And there's a brief plot synopsis confirmed by Bloody Disgusting that fits with logical guesses and previous teases. The sequel is set 20 years after the first movie, as a whole new wave of alien ships arrives in response to a distress call sent out in 1996.

Two years ago, Roland Emmerich revealed plot specifics involving aliens traveling quickly through wormholes, so for them it was an immediate retaliation. Here on Earth, we've had two decades to prepare for the expected return of the extraterrestrial invaders. Still, 20 years is not that long to plan against an advancealien race so advanced. Of course, if they're still using the same tech that we defeated them with then, one might expect our hacking scheme would work again.

ID Forever - Part 1 will star Jessie T. Usher, Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman and is hitting theaters in time for the first movie's 20th anniversary on June 24, 2016.

20 New Books Will Lead the Way to Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Disney may have wiped out all the previously official Star Wars novels, but they're certainly not against literature. Entertainment Weekly reports that at least 20 new books are due this fall to canonically fill in some of the gap from the events of Return of the Jedi to the upcoming new sequel, The Force Awakens. Don't worry, they aren't all essential reading for every fan. There will be novels for adults and sticker books for small children and everything for everyone in between.

Don't expect these books to give too much of Episode VII away, though, even as setup material. The series, going by the umbrella title Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is said to be "filled with Easter eggs foreshadowing" the sequel, which implies that they otherwise won't be direct lead-ins. Instead, there will be clues and puzzle pieces. "Without revealing what those pieces are," Disney Publishing VP Andrew Sugerman said, "it will just allow readers to speculate about the new film: What could a location mean, or what could a character mean?"

Here are some of the titles so far revealed and anything known about them:

Star Wars: Aftermath (Del Rey)
Star Wars: Journey to The Force Awakens (Marvel Comics)
Untitled C-3PO Story (Marvel Comics)
Star Wars: Ships of the Galaxy (Studio Fun International) -- vehicle focus
Moving Target by Cecil Castellucci -- Princess Leia adventure
The Weapon of a Jedi by Jason Fry -- Luke Skywalker adventure
Lost Stars by Claudia Gray
Smuggler's Run by Greg Rucka -- Han Solo adventure
