Listen up all you film fanatics: I'm officially coining a new term right now, and whoever decides to use it from here on out must preface it by noting the following:

This awesome word was created by the coolest living Fandango dude on the planet. The end.

Oh, you want to know the word now? Here it is: Sequakes. Yup, you know that spot somewhere between a sequel and a remake? That's a Sequake! An example of a recent film that's a Sequake would be, say, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, which is a sequel to a remake. So there ya go – use the word wisely. In other news, there's this:

Ghost Rider 2: Just when you thought the first installment wasn't worthy of a follow up comes news from Variety that David S. Goyer is in talks to come up with the story and manage the film's writers, while Nicolas Cage is expected to return. Did you even like the first Ghost Rider? Could you see this becoming a successful franchise for Marvel?

Lost Boys 3: The kinda-anticipated sequel to Lost Boys that went straight to DVD last year was met with a critical bashing, though apparently that's not stopping Corey Feldman and Co. from churning out a third installment. This time, according to Production Weekly, Lost Boys: The Thirst will go looking to suck some life out of those Twilight dollars. Here's the logline they gave for the movie: "When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, [sic] a wealthy vampire-romance novelist offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son." Lame.

'The Fly' Remake: I'm not sure what's in the water over in Hollywood, but someone is convincing directors to revisit (and then reboot) their own classic films. What gives? First it was Ridley Scott and Alien, and now The Hollywood Reporter tells us that David Cronenberg is considering rebooting his fantastic 1986 remake of The Fly. (Yes, he'd be remaking a remake of a remake, if that makes any sense at all.) No word on whether Jeff Goldblum would have anything to do with the remake, though I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to convince the man to make an appearance…especially if Cronenberg is behind the wheel. What do you think?

So which one of these are you looking forward to the most?
