Sure, there were plenty of snubs to share around the gossip table when it came to this year's Academy Award nominees, but perhaps none are as devastating (to fanboys, anyway) as The Lego Movie not receiving a nomination for Best Animated Film. Talk about something that definitely was not awesome. Was it because of its unusual animation style? Was it because parts of it were in live action? Or was it because Lord Business exacted his revenge upon those who brought him down?
We may never know -- but what we do know is that the film's directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, are having fun with the snub, posting the following notes to Twitter earlier.

This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.

Thanks all for the outpouring of love for the LEGO Movie today. We didn't make it for awards, we made it to be a trending topic on Twitter

Congrats to "Everything is Awesome" though currently the title of the song doesn't seem especially accurate!

The Lego Movie is still represented thanks to its Best Song nomination for "Everything Is Awesome," so celebrate the film's monumental success in 2014 by picking it up on Blu-ray or by watching the "Everything Is Awesome" music video below. (Warning: We are not responsible for this song getting stuck in your head... again.)
