Though we've already seen several rounds of Scream 4 set photos pop up here and there, director Wes Craven decided to finally give us a tastier treat by posting our first look at one of our favorite horror villains: Ghostface. Naturally we don't know who, exactly, Ghostface is in the fourth installment – whether it's just one person doing the killing or two, or whether it's a boy, a girl, or some sort of boy-girl-alien hybrid. But we do know this: Ghostface is back!
While I've heard rumors about Ghostface appearing in different costumes throughout the movie, this first image goes with the classic version: black cape, spooky "scream" mask. Back when the original Scream movies were huge, you could freak out just about anyone come Halloween time by putting on this mask. These days … I don't know. Is the mask still as scary?
I'm sure we won't know for sure until we're sitting in a darkened theater, waiting for Ghostface to jump out and run around like a lunatic with knife in hand, but I'm curious to hear what you think – especially now as all these old iconic horror villains (Freddy, Myers, Jason) are returning to the big screen. Were they scarier back then? Are they scarier now? What do you think?
