While I kinda sorta liked Get Smart, I’m one of those people who absolutely adores The Office and has been waiting for Steve Carell to churn out another movie as funny as The 40 Year Old Virgin. Could this be it? Variety tells us that Carell is circling a new project called Dumped over at Warner Bros., and if he signs on he’ll play a "man searching for new meaning in his life after his wife abruptly files for divorce." Hmmm…sounds a little sour and depressing, but it's not hard to spot the different comedic avenues they can travel down.

Apart from Dumped, Carell is also eying another comedy called Hi-T about a guy who must start taking testosterone injections following an accident, but winds up with uncontrollable mood swings because of it. Sounds a bit like something Jim Carrey would've starred in back in the late 1990s, but I could see Carell having fun with this.

Which project would you rather see him take on?

'The Hobbit' to Become a Trilogy?

As it stands right now, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson are working on two films based on The Hobbit, which is based on a book that’s a prequel to the three Lord of the Rings novels/movies. However, no one really knows whether both films will follow the same Hobbit story, or if one film will cover The Hobbit and another will be more of an original work. All we know is that Del Toro (who's directing while Jackson produces) said they’ll be "two episodes, or two parts, as if they were a single piece of narrative."

Now, however, we may get a third part thrown in. According to a source over at TheOneRing.net, negotiations are currently underway for there to be a third Hobbit film, though there are contract issues in that both Del Toro and Jackson would need to tack on three months more of shooting. Also, this third film would require them to use material from J.R.R. Tolkien that hasn’t been licensed yet, and so there are obvious sticking points in solidifying this deal.

Would you want three more Lord of the Rings films? Or has this series run its course?

Who Wants 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' to Premiere in Their Hometown?

Yup, that’s right – Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, announced earlier today that fans nationwide would get to vote for a chance to have the new film – due in theaters on May 1 – premiere in their very own hometown. All you have to do is visit the official Wolverine website and mark your town with an "X." The cities with the most amount of "X" marks wins. It’s that simple!
