As the world prepares itself for the first clip from The Twilight Saga: New Moon on the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, May 31, Entertainment Weekly has released three new images from the dark, steamy set and we’re all, like, “How come Bella looks so much tanner than Edward? Oh right – because vampires can’t go out in the sun!”
The three images aren’t all too exciting, save for the one featuring Bella and Edward enjoying a brief peck on the lips – but we’re kinda interested to know why, in another photo, Bella is sprawled out on the floor amongst several roses. According to EW, the scene in question features Edward throwing Bella against a table in order to protect her from another vampire. Creepy … but heroic and so totally dreamy!
In other Twilight-related news, Robert Pattinson managed to auction off two kisses on the cheek for $20 grand a pop while in France last week. Yup, twenty thousand dollars for two pecks on the cheek. Um, can we say total rip off?
Brad Pitt to Play Legendary Actor Steve McQueen?
Strap on your rumor hat because this one’s a doozy: According to The Examiner, Brad Pitt is about to sign on to play actor Steve McQueen in a biopic called Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel. Pitt, who was once rumored to be starring in a remake of McQueen’s Bullitt, seems like a pretty good fit to play the rough-and-rugged star of such films as The Great Escape, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Cincinnati Kid and The Magnificent Seven.
Other actors being considered for the part include Daniel Craig, who might bring a bit more – shall we say, manliness – to the role, since Pitt is pretty and popular but not all that rebellious and badass, if you know what I mean. What do you think: Is Brad Pitt the best choice to play Steve McQueen?
More 80s Remakes: This Time its ‘Flight of the Navigator’
Some of you might not be familiar with Flight of the Navigator since it hit theaters wayyy back in 1986 and didn’t do very well ($17 million at the box office) until its arrival on VHS where it went on to become a cult favorite for folks like me who love stories that involve aliens, little kids and time travel.
The film, which features a very young Sarah Jessica Parker and Paul “Pee-Wee Herman” Reubens as the voice of a spaceship, told of a young boy who’s abducted by aliens and then reappears eight years later having not aged a bit. As scientists begin their experiments and his family attempts to come to terms with what has happened, the kid escapes back to the ship to try to find a way back to where he came from. It’s a pretty cool little flick (for 1986), and now The Hollywood Reporter says Disney wants to remake it, assigning Brad Copeland to write the screenplay.
Any fans of Flight of the Navigator out there? What do you think about this remake news?
