With actor Chris Pine about to emerge as Hollywood’s next Flavor of the Year, folks are beginning to wonder what the man has in store for us beyond playing Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek film (which, in case you haven’t heard, will now hit theaters five hours earlier on May 7, instead of May 8).

MTV recently sat down with Pine to chat about this and that, and the new Kirk admitted to showing interest in that long-rumored A-Team movie. Those of you under 25 might not know of "The A-Team," but let it be known that it was one of greatest TV shows ever – with action, suspense, humor … and don’t forget Mr. T. Joe Carnahan is now the man in line to direct, and although a cast isn’t lined up yet, Pine said he’d love to tackle the role of Captain "Howling Mad" Murdock (originally played by Dwight Schultz) – even though Pine’s good looks are more suited for Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck.

Right now it’s just talk, but if Star Trek takes off (and it most certainly should), then Pine’s "face" in an A-Team flick might help its box office immensely. Who would you cast in an A-Team movie?

Who Wants a Date Night with Mark Wahlberg and James Franco?

I’m sure many of you ladies would love to spend time on a date with either Mark Wahlberg or James Franco, but right now it’s probably not meant to be. But here's something for you: According to the Hollywood Reporter, both actors have joined the cast of Date Night – which already stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey as a couple who go out for a simple dinner and movie when they’re mistaken as somebody else. Cue all sorts of ridiculous hijinks.

Wahlberg will play a man working in private security who offers to help the couple, while Franco will yuck it up as a moronic con man. Taraji P. Henson, Common, Jimmi Simpson, Leighton Meester and Kristen Wiig also star in the comedy, which starts shooting next week in Los Angeles.

McG Goes from Killer Robots to…Spring Awakening?

One wouldn’t expect the director of Terminator Salvation to go from that film to a big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical "Spring Awakening," but McG seems like the kind of guy who likes to change things up (he asks us to call him ‘McG’ for a reason, ya know).

The Hollywood Reporter now tells us that McG is indeed interested in producing and directing a movie version of the popular musical, and while it feels like an odd choice for the action helmer, keep in mind the guy got his start in the music business, directing videos, as well as producing teen-skewed TV shows like "The OC" and the upcoming "Limelight." It’s sort of in his blood, so to speak.

Set in 19th century Germany, "Spring Awakening" tells the coming-of-age story of a group of teens in the midst of discovering their sexuality. While on Broadway, the musical has won Tony Awards for best musical, best book, best original score and best actor.

Have any of you seen "Spring Awakening"? Would it make for a good movie?
