Are you sick of me writing about Twilight yet? Good! Because I’m never stopping! Bwahahahaha! We already showed you the new bare-chested werewolf photo spread, and now there’s big, big news on the Eclipse director front...David Slade is the guy.

David Who? David Slade, who's best known for the very slick and stylish Hard Candy, as well as that other vampire flick, 30 Days of Night. Could Summit Entertainment be looking to lend the notorious tween franchise some street cred and score points with the male audience who simply want to see vampires and werewolves destroy each other for two hours? We'll all find out soon enough. Slade has so far remained in the R-rated camp-he’s a wickedly sharp director–so we'll be anxious to see where he takes the uber-popular franchise.

Now that there's someone in the director's chair for Eclipse, let us know what you think of Summit's choice below…

Calling Dr. Jolie

Who wants to play doctor with Angelina Jolie? Er…sorry, I meant to say: Who wants to see Angelina Jolie play doctor? Variety tells us the actress has teamed up with Fox 2000 to bring author Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling crime novels featuring medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta to the big screen. With 16 Scarpetta novels in total, there’s plenty of material here to play around with–and from the looks of it, Fox seems interested in using this to create their own little Bourne-esque franchise.

Unlike Bourne, though, the first Scarpetta movie will come served with a thriller vibe in the vein of films like Silence of the Lambs or Seven. Described as a blonde perfectionist foodie who drives a Mercedes, Scarpetta seems like a perfect fit for Jolie – and the film could come at a great time as the movie world desperately needs a suspenseful female-driven franchise to help break up the macho male-oriented superhero flicks. Aside from this project, Jolie is also working on the thriller Salt, will reprise her role in as Tigress in a Kung Fu Panda sequel and is waiting to see a script for Wanted 2 before she makes a decision on that front.

Which film would you rather see Jolie take on?

Vanessa Hudgens Is 'Beastly'

So then why is Zac Efron dating her? Kidding–I love those crazy kids. ET reports that Hudgens, like her man Efron, is beginning to line up some post-High School Musical films, with the latest being one called Beastly – which is a live-action play on the whole Beauty and the Beast thing, except set in modern-day Manhattan.

The film is said to follow a handsome know-it-all who, after being infected with an ugly man curse, has to find true love in order to break the spell. Could be the perfect "couple film" for Zac and Vanessa, but so far she’s going at this one alone.
