Yup, Hollywood has officially moved past your old board games and action figures – now they’re looking to chewing gum for inspiration. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Michael Eisner (formerly of Disney) and Tomante Co. have assigned newbie writer Mark Hammer the job of adapting the Bazooka Joe comic strip (found inside all pieces of Bazooka Joe gum) into a big-screen feature film.

It’s funny, I’ve chewed Bazooka Joe gum all my life, and always read the little comic that came attached, however I’ve never been able to remember anything. I know Bazooka Joe is some dude with an eye patch (why does he wear an eye patch again?), and he hangs around with a friend named Mort (who wears a turtleneck sweater constantly) and has a crush on a girl named Jane. Sounds kinda boring, although I am interested to see where they can take this. You?

Shia LaBeouf Directed a Music Video – Wanna Watch It?

Like a lot of actors and actresses, Shia LaBeouf wants to also work behind the camera as a director. Why not? Hey, if you can dodge giant robots, you can certainly direct a bunch of actors, right? The star of this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen got his chance to dole out the commands when his friend, rapper Cage, asked him to direct a music video for his tune ‘I Never Knew You’. The song itself is a little disturbing, and the video gives off this sort of dark, twisted, stalker-ish vibe – but it looks good, and I wouldn’t mind seeing what else LaBeouf  shovels out while behind the camera.

Check out the video over on MTVu and let us know what you think. Should Shia LaBeouf direct more or simply stick to acting?

Video of the Week: 'Twilight' Fans Attack!

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if Twilight star Cam Gigandet beat up a whole bunch of menacing Twilight book club members? No? Well too bad, because I’m showing you anyway! As a promo for the MTV Movie Awards on May 31, Gigandet (who plays Edward’s adversary James) starred in a little spoof video over on Funny or Die that shows him being attacked by a slew of young Twilight fans only to turn around and fight them off in a bloody battle.

Definitely worth a watch if you’re a Twilight fan, or a non-Twilight fan who thinks Twilight book club members are scary. Check out the video right over here.
