Danish Royal Family

Four years in the making, a new official portrait of the Danish royal family was released over the weekend, and it looks -- unintentionally, we're sure -- like a horror-movie poster. The painting by Thomas Kluge is intended as a tribute to the last royal portrait in Denmark, which dates to the 1880s. The "Royal couple with their sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren" are posed in the same place as in the previous portrait. Somehow, though, the pose of the children in the foreground, and the somber expression of the little boy, is strangely unsettling.

The boy reminds us of the kid in the Insidious movies, especially in the poster for the first one.

Insidious

Speaking of Insidious, the release date for the third installment has been set for April 3, 2015. Leigh Whannell, who wrote the first two films, will do the same for Insidious: Chapter 3; he's also made sure that Specs, the ghost-chasing character he plays, will return, as will his partners in the paranormal, Tucker (Angus Sampson) and Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye). Director James Wan has already declared that he is "finished with the horror genre," so a new helmer will be needed.

We're not sure if a new frightened family will be featured, since the Lamberts -- Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins -- seemed to have resolved their issues in the second chapter. Say, you don't think the Danish royal family portrait is some kind of weird viral marketing for Insidious: Chapter 3, and that the series will be moving to Europe next? Nah, couldn't be.
