Yes, there are three new films in wide release this weekend, but I think we're gonna skip our usual Who Will Win The Box Office Poll because, well, I think it's pretty obvious which film will win the weekend. But just how much The Twilight Saga: New Moon makes is an entirely different story. At this same time back in 2008, Twilight opened in theaters to the tune of $69 million. The film eventually went on to gross a whopping $383 million worldwide, and there's a pretty good chance New Moon could beat that.
However, according to Rotten Tomatoes, New Moon and its paltry 29% Fresh rating pales in comparison to Twilight's 49% Fresh rating. Granted, reviews are still being counted for the former, but the negative buzz could hurt the film's final box office take. And that's where you come in: How much do you think New Moon will make in its opening weekend? Will it soar past the $69 million Twilight took in back in 2008, or will it come up short?
