Say what you will about the amended title for Die Hard 5 aka A Good Day to Die Hard, but Fox isn’t wasting any time in trying to find an actor to play Bruce Willis’ son for their Valentine’s Day 2013 release.
With Mary Elizabeth Winstead already confirming that she would not be returning as daughter Lucy McClane, Variety has revealed that four actors are currently reading for the role of John McClane Jr. The most prominent name on the list is Ben Foster, though Paul Walker is also coveted by Fox.
Fox wants Walker for the role but word is the Fast and the Furious actor is not scheduled to read for the role.
Which brings us back to Foster, who, along with Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Big Love) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) will be reading for the role over the next few days. Both Foster and Dano have worked with Willis before, giving them a slight edge, considering how much influence Willis has on the franchise.
