“Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test. Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie and we provide the rest!”
Are you ready for Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast? Get prepared by creating a “culinary cabaret,” an inspired meal featuring some of the tempting treats from Lumière’s lyrics from “Be Our Guest,” as well a few fun DIY crafts. It’s perfect for a birthday party or even just a fun family meal before heading to the theater.
Set the scene with sweeping royal blue and gold fabrics, a Cogsworth type clock and a few candles to stand in for Lumière himself. Silverware tied in yellow napkins and your finest china round out the tablescape.
A Strawberry Rose carved to look like the Beast’s enchanted rose makes for a pretty tableside appetizer. Cheese soufflé is a must for an elegant French dinner and it must be accompanied by a fresh baguette.
Who can forget Lumière’s call to “try the grey stuff, it's delicious, don't believe me? Ask the dishes!” This Grey Stuff is made with a blend of creamy mascarpone and white chocolate.
Speaking of the dishes, a Beauty and the Beast dinner is not complete without Chip the teacup. DIY your own Chip Teacup using Sharpie pens to create his happy little face.
Enjoy this inspired meal while watching the original animated Beauty and the Beast before you head out to see the new live-action version in theaters. Bon Appétit!
