Get the Gringo Say what you want about the man's behavior in the last few years, he's still a compelling actor onscreen--and Gringo marks a return to his action-blasting movies of yore. He plays a guy known only as "Driver" who gets tossed into a grimy Mexican prison by some crooked cops and then swaggers, smirks and snarks his way out with the help of a 10-year-old he meets when they share cigarettes (yes, really). First-time director Adrian Grunberg gives a great gritty, dirty feel to the proceedings (you'll feel like taking a shower after watching it), and there's plenty of bloodshed and gunfire to please the most hardcore action fan. It's ridiculously--and thoroughly--entertaining. Mel, this is the guy we want back--for good. The Three Stooges Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos and Will Sasso take on slapstick icons Moe, Larry and Curly, respectively, and weirdly do a great job at inhabiting the three numbskulls--it means, however, that if this brand of humor wasn't your cup of tea before, it probably won't be this time around. Lockout Hark back to 1997 with this Luc Besson sci-fi thriller starring Guy Pearce as a rogue ex-agent with a bad attitude and back-talking mouth sent to an outer-space international prison where the U.S. president's daughter (Maggie Grace) has been taken hostage by escapees. It's over-the-top, has some lines that could rival Die Hard's, and even Grace's vacuous expressions and terrible acting are easily overlooked for all the cheesy entertainment going on. Friends with Kids Ensemble rom-com about a group of couples who all have kids except two singletons who decide to have one even though they'll still date other people. Lots of swearing ensues. Kristen Wiig and John Hamm star. Extras: Deleted scenes, audio commentary with the director and Hamm, gag reel, making-of (DVD/BD)
