Wonder Woman: Following the unfortunate depature of Michelle MacLaren as director of Wonder Woman due to creative differences, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment made a remarkably quick substitution by hiring Patty Jenkins for the gig. Jenkins was once attached to direct Thor: The Dark World but left due to creative differences. Her only feature is 2003's Monster. [THR]
Captain Marvel: Many fans of the MCU are now hoping that MacLaren fully defects to the enemy and takes on Captain Marvel, but there's also been rumor going around for a while that Marvel Studios is eyeing Angelina Jolie for the job. Now there's confirmation that she is in serious consideration to direct the female superhero movie. She was also said to be up for Wonder Woman, but that idea has clearly been squashed. [Collider]
