Star Wars: Episode IX: Director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) says that Star Wars: Episode IX will be shot on film stock rather than on digital equipment. "It’s a period film,” he joked. “It happened a long time ago." He added: "There’s something in my brain that says, Well, they didn’t have video cameras then." Mama Sequel: A sequel to horror thriller Mama is on its way from Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, who cowrote and directed the critically acclaimed indie drama Starry Eyes. The duo is in final negotiations to rewrite and direct the sequel. The low-budget original starred Jessica Chastain and revolved around two young sisters and an evil force; it became an unexpected hit at the box office after its release in 2013. [THR]

 

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever Remake: A new image has been released from Cabin Fever, a remake based on the screenplay for Eli Roth's 2002 horror-chiller. As in the original, five friends head to a cabin in the woods on vacation, only to fall victim to a flesh-eating virus. Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker and Dustin Ingram star. The movie will open in theaters on February 12. [Bloody Disgusting]
